Two summer months

Original post author: Ryan

Is this thing still on?

I lived two months of life since my last post, and it’s been jam packed with family, fun, work, travel, music, and everything in between. If there were a highlight reel, and that highlight reel was transcribed into bullets, it might look like this:

  1. Kayaking on the Charles River in Boston with Jess and Violet

  2. Eating at Eataly with my sister Casey, her husband Mike, and my nephew Vincent

  3. Visiting Fenway with my family, including the giant new food court named Time Out

  4. Going to da club for our friend Abby’s going-away party, then eating pancakes at ihop at 4am

  5. Eating a breakfast cereal buffet and then doing Tarot card readings with friends

  6. Attending the Newport Folk Festival with my parents and listening to great music in great weather

  7. Traveling to Chicago, New York, and Cincinnati for work, and getting stuck in LaGuardia for longer than I’d prefer

  8. Traveling to North Carolina for a friend’s wedding, and then buying mystical rocks from a witch in the fantastically eccentric NoDa neighborhood

  9. Putting in some weekend work hours at a hip vegetarian cafe in Boston named Life Alive

  10. Taking a day trip in Vermont with Violet to visit Jess’s family

  11. Going to Trillium Beer Garden in downtown Boston, and then wondering into a bumping nighttime block party in the North End

  12. Pulling an all nighter for work, and then strangely feeling fine the next day

  13. Walking Violet through the happening Seaport district in Boston at night to get ice cream

  14. Going to a Patriots preseason football game (thanks to tickets gifted by Jess’s brother, Andrew)

  15. Meeting up with Jess’s mom, Judy, and Andrew in Hampton beach and admiring the biggest flying kites I’ve ever seen

...and that is the full run-down of our last couple months.  While that list might sound like a lot, what doesn’t come through is how busy we’ve both been with work. We are trying to push through and get back to more balanced schedule soon.
